Most Kimono and Furisode are really long and are tucked up around the waist and under the obi, hence why there is a visible line going across. For Geiko or performers clothes, they are not tucked and the hem trails on the ground, giving them the name Hikizuri. Hence why Geiko/Maiko are seen lifting their kimono when they walk. Some Vintage Furisode can also be untucked or can just be altered to be untucked. Always learning~
